So we were forced to be lazy, and God knew we needed it. We had a slow, lazy morning. Andy really tries to take advantage of Friday Family Fun Day, since his time is limited throughout the week. He and the girls played board games in the playroom. (C beat him at Memory, and he's not one to let someone win - even a 4 year old. It was a true win. Way to go C!)
While they were playing and A was napping, I watched the news while sipping hot chocolate without saying, "Careful. Don't bump me. It's hot." Then I soaked in a tub full of bubbles, without inquiring eyes peeking saying, "Whatcha doing Mom?" Oh boy - what a treat!
Not only does Andy focus on spending extra time with the kids on Friday, but he tries to tend to me as well. He understands that stay at home moms never get vacation days and never can call in sick. They rarely get to experience peace and quiet. They can't even poo in peace! (That's for another post, another day.) So he does a lot to care for the kids on Friday including diaper changes, meal prep, bottom wipes, nose wipes, mouth wipes, hand wipes, what else do we wipe around here?! It's a huge treat for me, and I am so thankful to have such a loving, caring man looking out for me.
While the kids napped, we lounged. It was great. Even after the girls woke up, they were still moving slow, and super snuggle bugs. J even crawled up on Andy's lap and slept some more. (Our kids rarely ever - even tempted to say never - fall asleep on our laps.) It was too cute.
We both were so immersed in our lazy la-la land that we forgot to pick up the worship guides - our one "to do" on Fridays. We didn't even think about it until late in the afternoon. Oops. Thank goodness they are open on Sunday mornings!Andy and I ended the evening with a board game ourselves. Shhh... he got beat by a girl again.
