So yesterday the celebration was on! Here's a play by play look at the day.
C woke up to the house decorated with birthday fun.
The Birthday Girl gets to wear her crown all day long - a tradition started on C's 2nd birthday. Siblings get party hats.
Breakfast is a special treat. This year I was able to ask C what she would like. She chose chocolate covered doughnuts. Five candles around the hole makes it complete.
Almost ... almost... "Yeah, I got it!"

The girls eating breakfast.
C opening her first gift - a crown, wand, and skirt from Nana. She wanted to put it all on immediately.
After C got dressed, J asked me for her present. I explained that she didn't get any presents. She would have to wait for her birthday in January. She started to cry, and C came to the rescue. She asked if J would like to hold her wand, then wrapped her arm around her. Precious sisters.
C opening her rollerblades. Her eyes lit up when she saw the picture of the skates on the box. She was absolutely thrilled - totally shocked. She had no clue she was getting skates.
She was equally thrilled with the safety gear.
Of course she wanted to try them out. Of course it was a 40 degree, rainy day. Thanks Dad!

C got to choose where she wanted to eat for dinner. Andy thought for sure she would choose Chick-Fil-A. I was leaning more towards Bennigan's. Andy asked, "C, would you like to eat dinner at Chick-Fil-A tonight?" Her reply, "Well Dad. I think I would rather a family restaurant like Bennigan's." Andy reminded her of the play place at Chick-Fil-A, so her final choice was Chick-Fil-A. We had lots of fun, and she was able to wear her crown and tell everyone who asked that she was 5 years old now. After dinner, we rushed home for cake.

Once again, what about me Mom?! Where's my cake?!
